The 16U GameTime Cougars were handed their  first loss Saturday morning against the NJ Storm. They Lost by (1) basket that was scored with 3 seconds left to go in the game.

Rockland Rockets DTH III Tournament

The Rockets Organization wouldlike to thank each of you for competing in our third annual Drive to the Hoop Tournament. It was a great success due to your sportsmanship and participation. We also want to thank the parents and family members who kindly volunteered their time to make this a smooth running show. We saw some great basketball this year making for another exciting tournament. We look forward to seeing you next year for the

The Gold Standard: Building a World-Class Team is Coach K’s guide to team building, illustrated with experiences from his three years coaching the team that would ultimately win Olympic gold. You’ll see how he formed relationships with LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Jason Kidd, Dwayne Wade, and the rest of Team USA’s NBA stars and how they established a set of standards to guide their performance, both on and off the court.

My Thoughts - from one coach to another there are many words of wisdom in this book. Its an easy read with a lot of leadership and thought behind each and every word. Im a big fan of coach k, not because he coaches a TEAM but because he coaches a PROGRAM. He does not make rules he sets standards.

12U get their first LOSS

After going 3-0 in March @ the Paterson Sparks Tournament, the 12U squad were handed their first loss this season from the WESTCHESTER HOOPSTERS on Friday night in Rockland County.

They bounced back saturday with a 38-25 win over the RAVENS. Caitlin Roche led the way with 15 points to regain the lead in the second half. They ended the weekend with a 54 to 39 win over the HoopStarz Gym Ratz. The Cougars had (3) starters in double digits: Cami Dido, Julianne Leshinsky, and Caitlin Roche combined for 38 points. The 12U GameTime Cougars have an overall record of 5-1.

The 12U girls will take this weekend off and pick up again in the annual Rockland Royals Rumble the weekend of May 2nd. 

16U Cougars Win the CHIP!!!

The 16U girls went 4-0 this weekend and won the CHAMPIONSHIP in the "Drive to the Hoop" tournament hosted by the rockland rockets. 

They defeated the Bergen Bronze Friday night 44-37, then went on Saturday morning to defeat the Primos

60-23. Their third win on Saturday placed them with a 3-0 record going into the championship game 

against the NJ STORM. Ruby Katz led the team with a record of (6) threes to lead the cougars in scoring with 

18 points. Ruby Katz will be a junior next season at Pascack Valley, she hit 13 three pointers in (4) games this

weekend and totaled with 45 points for the tournament. Congratulations to the 16 U girls for defeating the NJ

Storm 46-40.

 

The 16 U girls will tip off their 

second tournament of the season at the Crusaders Classic, in West Orange, NJ.

The Game Time Cougars will head into Rockland County this weekend to compete in the "DRIVE TO THE HOOP" tournament. Over 200 teams have entered their tournament this year. Schedule can be found on the Rockland Rockets website:

12U going on 13U....

The 2008 Gametime Cougars are returning with 70% of their roster to compete in the 13U division. THEY ARE ALL GROWN and playing with the big dogs now. The 13U team has taken the month off to focus on the Division II state tournament. This is the first time GAMETIME has ever competed in the tournament. GOOD LUCK!!
